Invisible orthodontics “in 1 day” does not align teeth in a single day. This means that, in select cases, the clinic can complete the records, review the treatment plan, and fabricate the first Graphy aligners without waiting for them to be shipped from an outside laboratory.
Tooth movement still requires weeks or months, constant wear, and check-ups. The difference lies in the initial manufacturing time, not in accelerating the biological limits of the treatment.
What happens during the first visit
- Exploration and diagnosis. We check teeth, gums, and bite. If periodontal health is inadequate, it is treated before moving the teeth.
- Digital records. An intraoral scanner, photographs, and clinically indicated X-rays are performed.
- Planning. The orthodontist designs the movements, evaluates space, roots, attachments, and possible auxiliaries.
- Validation. The digital preview is reviewed before manufacturing. It is a plan, not a guarantee of the result.
- Direct printing. When the case is suitable and the treatment plan is complete, the first Graphy aligners can be printed and post-cured in the clinic.
What “same-day aligners” really means”
Direct printing avoids fabricating a model and thermoforming a sheet over it. The final aligner is printed in a shape-memory photopolymerizable resin. The design makes it possible to modify margins, thickness, and certain elements of the aligner.
It’s not enough to just have a printer. Alignment, washing, post-curing, finishing, and fit checks are all part of the process. Available studies support promising mechanical properties, but most of the comparative evidence for Graphy remains limited to laboratory or material studies. It does not yet have the same long-term clinical track record as Invisalign.
Can it always be done in a single appointment?
No. Same-day delivery depends on the records being complete, there being no prior clinical need, and the orthodontist being able to safely review the plan. A case that needs the study of roots, gums, extractions, expansion, or other adjunctive procedures should not be rushed to meet a commercial promise.
In some patients, the first visit is used for diagnosis and design; delivery is scheduled afterwards. Stating this clearly avoids confusing manufacturing speed with clinical improvisation.
Does Graphy need fewer attachments?
In certain cases, it can be planned with fewer attachments or without them because direct printing allows for the incorporation of pressure areas and thickness changes. However, treatment without attachments cannot be promised before studying the movements.
An attachment is not an aesthetic failure: it is a tool to control rotations, extrusions, roots, or other movements. If it improves control, using it may be the most predictable decision.
Do teeth move faster?
There is insufficient clinical evidence to conclude that Graphy moves teeth faster than Invisalign. Local fabrication can reduce the wait time to start or replace an aligner, but the duration depends on the initial position, gum and bone health, hours of wear, the movements required, and the biological response.
Price and hours of use
The Graphy aligners are currently based on 1.999 €, just like Invisalign in the clinic’s published pricing. Intermediate cases cost around €3,000, and complex cases can reach €4,000.
