Dr. Lissett Rodríguez has been twenty years practicing orthodontics, the last eight as clinical director of Clínica Dental Los Cristianos, and she works in a very specific way: She is handling your case from start to finish.. The study, the digital plan, each review, and the final adjustments.
His field is not just the simple case. A good part of his career is complex casesorthodontic preparations prior to implants and prosthetics, patients with severe bone compromise and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders — jaws that click, hurt, or lock. That is why diagnosis always involves 3D imaging (CBCT) before moving a single tooth: bone and roots are looked at first, decisions are made after.
Your consultation works with honesty. On the first visit, it shows you on screen what is wrong with your teeth, what can be corrected, how long it would take, and what options you have—even when the answer is that a treatment is not right for you yet. It treats children, adolescents, and adults, and serves in Spanish and English.
In Spain, orthodontics is not yet an officially recognised specialty; that is why you will not see the word "specialist" here. What you can verify: the professional registration number, exclusive dedication, and specific training.

These are the most frequent reasons for consultation. If you recognise yourself in any of them, the first visit is the place to clear up your doubts.
Teeth overlapping due to lack of space. It is the most common reason for consultation in adults, and it complicates daily hygiene.
Spaces between teeth, especially between the upper incisors. They are closed in a controlled manner and stabilised with retention.
When the upper teeth cover the lower ones too much, or fail to touch at all. It affects wear and function, not just aesthetics.
The upper teeth bite inside the lower ones. Detected early in children, its correction is much simpler.
Relapse after old orthodontic treatment is one of the most common things we see. It can usually be resolved with shorter treatments than the original one.
Align before veneers or implants reduce the carving and leave each piece in its correct place.
In Spain, any dentist can legally provide orthodontics. That's why the right question before starting months of treatment is not "where?", but "Who is going to handle this for me and what qualifications do they have?".
What makes the difference in practice: a female doctor with specific training in orthodontics and exclusive dedication to her, which plans on 3D scanner and X-ray, which explains the complete plan to you before charging you anything, and which reviews your revisions personally instead of delegating them.
That is the model for this consultation. And if your case requires something we don't do here—orthognathic surgery, for example—we will tell you and guide you, because we prefer a well-referred patient over a poorly indicated treatment.
No obligation
Dr. Lissett checks teeth, gums, and bite, and listens to what you would like to change.
Digital model of your mouth without moulds or pastes. If clinically indicated, a CBCT is added.
It teaches you what happens in your mouth and what your real options are, along with their advantages and limitations.
Estimated duration, recommended system, and all-inclusive fixed price. Take it home with you.
It depends on what needs to be moved. As an honest guideline: the minor corrections —a relapse, a front that has gone awry— can be resolved in few months. The majority of cases is located between 6 and 18 months. Complex cases can go further, and you'll know it before you start, not halfway through.
During treatment, monitoring does not depend on you coming in every month. In aligner treatments, we use remote monitoring with an intraoral camerayou register your teeth when changing your aligner, the images are sent to the team and the fit of the aligner, the progress of the movement, and hygiene are reviewed — at each change, not every six weeks. If everything progresses according to plan, you move on to the next phase without traveling; if something deviates, we call you. For anyone who spends time off the island — half consultation here — this is not an extra: it is the difference between being able to do the treatment or not.
Upon finishing, the retention maintains the result. Teeth tend to move throughout life, whether braces were worn or not; retainers are not optional if you want to maintain the result, and they are quoted separately from the orthodontic treatment.

The price depends on three factors: the complexity of the treatment, the system chosen (braces, Invisalign, or in-office aligners), and the expected duration. That’s why you should be wary of fixed prices advertised without a prior examination of your mouth.
What is fixed here is the method: fixed written quotation on the first visit — and what does not fit, marked with equal clarity. There is flexible financing available: detailed conditions in writing at the clinic.
Both tools work; the question is which one suits your case and your life. The brackets they work alone and provide great control in complex movements. The aligners They are very discreet and withdraw to eat, but they demand consistency: 20–22 hours a day.
In this clinic, Dr. Lissett works with Invisalign, with 3D-Printed Shape-Memory Aligners (Graphy) —in many cases without ligatures— and with brackets. That variety matters: it means that the recommendation is made according to your diagnosis, not according to the only thing that is offered. And thanks to our in-house 3D printing lab, in many cases using Graphy The first aligners are delivered on the same day as the diagnosis..
No. There is no maximum age for orthodontics. What matters is not the year of birth but the condition of the gums and bone, which is checked during the first visit.
In fact, a good portion of the patients in this clinic started past 40, 50, or 60 — many years wanting to do it. With clear aligners, furthermore, the treatment goes unnoticed at work and in social life.
If you have crowns or implants, there is also a way forward: crowns move like natural teeth and implants are used as a fixed anchorage for the treatment plan. Each case is studied individually.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up around age 7. Not because braces are necessary at that age —which is almost never the case—, but because detecting a crossbite or space issue early allows for shorter and simpler treatments later.
In most cases, that first check-up ends with an "everything is fine, we'll see you again in a year". When something does need early attention, there are options tailored to each age, including children's and teenagers' versions of aligners.
