What we do differently (and you can verify)

Almost every clinic claims to have "the latest technology". We prefer to tell you what equipment is inside, what it is used for, and how it changes your treatment—point by point.

In-house laboratory with 3D printing

The lab is not on another island or in another company: it is inside the clinic. This shortens wait times for appliances, surgical guides, and temporaries — and for orthodontics with Graphy aligners allows something unusual: getting the first aligners on the same day as the diagnosis, without weeks of shipping in between.

Shape-Memory Aligners (Graphy)

We were pioneers in the Canary Islands in working with direct-print aligners with shape memory, and Dr. Rodríguez is a certified trainer of this technology for other dentists in Spain. If you compare invisible orthodontics options, in her page it explains what changes compared to conventional aligners — and when it is not worth it.

Remote orthodontic monitoring

For aligner treatments, we use intraoral camera monitoring: you scan your teeth when changing trays, and the team reviews the fit, progress, and hygiene. without having to come every month. You come to the clinic when there is a clinical reason, not out of routine. Useful if you live away for part of the year — here that is half a consultation.

Computer-guided implant surgery

The implants They are planned using a 3D study (CBCT) and, when indicated by the case, are placed with a printed surgical guide that transfers that planning down to the millimetre. We work with implants Straumann and original 100 % components, and upon completion, we give you the implant passport with the traceability of each piece — valid with any dentist in the world.

Tooth-conserving aesthetics

Certification in First Fit veneers — digital design, guided placement in two appointments and minimal preparation — and in the Bioclear system to close black triangles and gaps uncarved, with anatomical matrices and composite. The house rule: the more of your own enamel that remains, the better.

AquaCare: drill-free microabrasion

For stubborn stains and some early cavities, we use AquaCare, an air and powder microabrasion system that avoids the conventional drill in selected cases and preserves more healthy tissue. It doesn't replace everything: when it works and when it doesn't, we'll tell you in front of your tooth, not in a brochure.

Dr. Lissett Rodríguez, clinical director and orthodontist

Dr. Lissett Rodríguez (member No. 38001202, Santa Cruz de Tenerife Dental Association) has been twenty years practicing orthodontics, the last eight as clinical director of this practice. Postgraduate training in Orthodontics from the Central University of Venezuela, programme Master Clinician from Harvard University and training in orthodontics and orthognathic surgery (UIC Barcelona). He is a member of World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), from the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and of the Spanish Society of Orthodontics.

Two specific facts describe him better than any adjective: he was the first orthodontist in Spain authorised to certify other professionals in the use of direct-impression aligners with shape memory (Graphy), and has more than fifteen years of experience with aligner systems such as Invisalign, Spark, and Angel Aligner. An adjunct professor in postgraduate orthodontic education and a speaker at national and international courses, she also treats complex cases, including orthodontic preparations prior to prosthetics and implants, severe bone compromise, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.

It is also certified in orofacial harmonisation with hyaluronic acid and First Fit veneers. His diagnostic method always involves three-dimensional imaging: a CBCT scan to see bone and roots before moving anything. If you want to know how he plans a treatment, he has own page — and you can check their registration status on the official search engine guiadentistas.es. We say this because verifying should be the norm, not a gesture of distrust.

Without insurance companies, by personal choice

We do not have contracts with dental insurance companies, and it is not an oversight: it is the most important decision regarding how this clinic operates. When an insurance company pays, the insurance company dictates the terms — what treatment is covered, how much chair time is paid for, what material is used. By working solely for the patient, The indication comes from the diagnosis, chair time is whatever the case requires and materials are chosen based on clinical criteria, not an agreed fee.

The trade-off is clear and we will state it: you will not be able to run your insurance through here. What we offer in return is a fixed written quotation before starting, alternatives when they exist — almost always they do — and flexible financing with conditions detailed in writing at the clinic. Comparing quotations is legitimate: take ours wherever you want.

That same logic extends down to the smallest treatment. One cleaning this is not a twenty-minute appointment: it is unhurried chair time, a review of your brushing technique right in your own mouth, and, if needed, a specific regimen of toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash for your case—not the generic one. If a "minor" treatment is done with care, it is easier to trust how the major ones are done.

How we work: Five house habits

They are not poster values. They are operational rules — and all of them can be verified on any visit.

The conservative ladder

Always the least invasive treatment that resolves your case: the bonding Before the veneer, the inlay before the crown, watch before touching when watching is the right thing to do. Every millimetre of one's own tooth counts.

The budget, beforehand and in writing

Nothing is started without knowing what it costs and why — with priorities in order: what is urgent, what can wait, what is optional. Comparing quotations is legitimate: take ours wherever you want.

The limits, published

Every page of this website also says what a treatment does not do, and when we do not recommend it. And what we do not do at the clinic is referred out with the report and x-rays already done — without making you start from scratch.

No scares on the couch

What is quoted is what gets done. If something new comes up during a treatment, it is explained, quoted separately, and decided together with you — never a "while we're at it". With children, the same rule applies in this version: no surprises and nothing by force.

Maintenance is part of the treatment

Almost everything we do lasts as long as its maintenance: the cleaning at your risk pace, the check-ups where margins and gums are examined. We are telling you this before starting, because it changes decisions.

The truth, even if it sells less

If the honest answer is "you don't need it" or "not yet," that's the answer you get. We lose a sale and gain what truly sustains a neighbourhood clinic: that you come back—and bring your people.

Why this website cites studies (and doesn't promise results)

If you have read any of our pages, you will have seen something unusual for clinic websites: citations of systematic reviews, European guidelines, international consensuses — with author and year. It is not academic posturing. It is the consequence of a decision: If a piece of data is going to help you decide about your mouth, it must be verifiable.. Part of the team participates in teaching and industry publications; reading and citing evidence is a routine part of the work, not just decoration.

The other half of that decision is what you won't see here: outcome guarantees, superlatives, "forever". Spanish healthcare advertising law prohibits this—and rightly so, because in medicine, results depend on each patient. When a clinic promises you the result, it is not informing you: it is selling to you.

All clinical content on this website is reviewed by Dr. Lissett Rodríguez, and each page includes the date of its last update. If you find anything that is out of date or doesn't add up, please let us know—we appreciate your feedback and will correct it.

Three languages, one medical record

Los Cristianos is a town where half the patients don't speak Spanish, and we've come to accept that as a matter of course: we provide care in Spanish and English. Not as a commercial gesture, but as a clinical requirement — informed consent only informs if it is understood, and a cost quotation is only transparent in a language you master.

For those who live here part of the year or are just passing through, two more customs: we give you the written report for your original dentist, with what was done and why; and if you bring treatments done outside — of a prosthesis that no longer fits a half-finished orthodontic treatment — what is there is assessed and continued from that point, without judgment and without making you repeat what is already well done. Remote orthodontic monitoring was born in part from this: half of the practice spends periods away from the island, and treatment doesn't have to stop when you travel.

And for everyone, residents and locals: here, the same team sees you. Your medical history doesn't reset with each visit, your previous X-rays are available to compare with today's, and the person who put in your filling three years ago is the one checking how it's holding up. It sounds obvious. It isn't always.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about the clinic

Who is going to help me?

The clinic's team, with Dr. Lissett Rodríguez (License No. 38001202) serving as clinical director and orthodontist. During your first visit, you’ll find out who is handling your case and why—and you can verify the professional registration of any dentist in Spain using the official search engine at guiadentistas.es.

Do you work with dental insurance?

No, by choice: with no insurance contracts, treatments are prescribed based on clinical criteria rather than what a policy covers. In exchange, we offer a fixed written quotation before starting and flexible financing with detailed conditions provided in writing at the clinic.

Is the initial assessment consultation free of charge?

Yes: the consultation is free of charge and includes the examination and a full discussion of options. If tests are needed or treatment begins, everything comes with a written quotation beforehand — nothing is done without you seeing and approving it.

What languages do you support?

In Spanish and English, the diagnosis, consent, and cost quotation are explained in your language, and if you are just passing through, we will give you a written report for your home dentist.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes: patients have one hour of free parking. Mention it when booking and we will explain how it works — arriving without driving around looking for a spot is also part of the visit.

Do you do all the treatments?

Almost everyone: the complete catalogue — every treatment with its guide — is on the services page. What we do not do (orthognathic surgery, biopsies, complex oral pathology) we state openly and refer out with a report and X-rays already done.

Where exactly are you located and how do I tell you apart from similar clinics?
