How to read these photos

A before-and-after photo says very little if you do not know how it was made. These are our rules, and you can check them case by case:

  • Same camera, same light, same distance. The two photos are taken in the same armchair with the same equipment. A change in lighting can lighten a tooth by two shades without touching it.
  • No digital retouching. We do not bleach on the computer, we do not erase red gums, and we do not lengthen teeth with software.
  • No simulations. What you see in "after" is the finished mouth, not a smile design preview.
  • With written consent. Each patient has authorised the publication of their photos and can withdraw it at any time.

The treatments you see here are irreversible in some cases (veneers involve shaving down enamel) and reversible in others. During the first visit, we will explain which is which before deciding anything.

Aesthetics · First Fit Veneers

Small and spaced teeth → digitally guided veneers (First Fit)

  • First Fit Veneers
  • 2 visits
  • 2 weeks

She came because she covered her mouth when laughing: short teeth, a lot of gum showing, and spaces between the teeth. Her mouth was 3D scanned at the first appointment and the lab manufactured the veneers with their transfer guides; at the second appointment, all of them were placed at once using the printed guide, with minimal preparation and without provisional restorations.

How veneers work

Aesthetics · Veneers and gums

You showed more gum than teeth → gum contouring and eight veneers

  • Veneers + contouring
  • 4 visits
  • 1 month

The problem wasn't just the teeth: the gum covered part of the crown and made them look shorter than they were. First, the gum was recontoured and allowed to heal for three weeks; then the veneers were placed on teeth that already had their actual height.

How veneers work

Aesthetics · Veneers

Gaps between the teeth and translucent edges → veneers in the anterior region

  • Porcelain veneers
  • 3 visits
  • 3 weeks

The edges had thinned to the point of transparency, and the spaces widened a little more each year. The gaps were closed and thickness was restored to the incisal edge, matching the shade of the neighbouring teeth so the change wouldn't stand out.

How veneers work

Orthodontics · Invisalign

Closing the gap between the incisors with Invisalign

  • Invisalign
  • Aligner orthodontics
  • Real case

This change was achieved using only Invisalign. No bonding, composite fillings, veneers, or any other cosmetic treatments were performed. The aligners moved the teeth to close the gap and improve their position. Results and treatment duration vary from patient to patient.

How Invisalign Works

Rehabilitation · Orthodontics and crowns

First correct the bite with aligners; then, crowns on the upper teeth

  • Aligner orthodontics
  • Upper crowns
  • Phased treatment

The treatment was planned in two phases. First, the teeth were moved with aligners to correct the bite and achieve a proper position. When the bite was ready, crowns were placed on the upper teeth to restore their shape and function. No veneers were used. Results and duration vary for each patient.

How crowns work

Implants · Orthodontics

A missing tooth and the rest shifted → first orthodontics, then the implant

  • Orthodontics + implant
  • 14 months
  • Combined treatment

The gap had been open for years and the neighbouring teeth had tilted towards it: there was no room for a properly sized implant. Orthodontics repositioned the teeth and opened the exact space; the implant was placed afterwards, when the gap already had the width of a real tooth.

How we plan an implant

Orthodontics · Implant

First create the space with orthodontics; then, place the implant

  • Aligner orthodontics
  • Dental implant
  • Phased treatment

Treatment began with orthodontics to move the teeth and create the proper space. Only after preparing the position and the bite was the implant placed to replace the missing tooth. The order is important: an implant does not move with orthodontics like a natural tooth. Results and duration vary for each patient.

Crowns

Old crowns that no longer matched anything → rehabilitation of the upper sector

  • Porcelain crowns
  • 5 visits
  • 6 weeks

The old crowns had turned grey at the edge and the rest of the teeth had darkened around them. They were removed, what was underneath was checked — a couple of teeth needed treatment before being crowned — and the whole set was redone with a single shade.

When is a dental crown needed

Prosthesis

Few teeth remained and eating had become a problem → removable partial denture

  • Removable denture
  • 5 visits
  • 2 months

Not all cases end in implants. Here, the teeth that were still useful as support were utilised, and a removable partial denture was made for cleaning. If you look at the after photo, you will see the metal clasps: it is what it is, and it works.

What you won't find on this page

Almost any clinic can show you pretty pictures. What sets them apart is what they choose not to show.

  • No stock photos or cases from other clinics presented as your own.
  • Computer-generated smile designs placed as if they were the finished result.
  • Changes in light or saturation that make teeth appear whiter than they are.
  • Promises about your case. These results are from these specific mouths; yours depends on your bone, your gums, your bite, and your habits.

If during the first visit we tell you that a case like yours doesn't have that much potential, that's information, not a rejection. We prefer to say it beforehand rather than show you a photo you won't be able to replicate.

From a photo to your case

None of these cases started with a budget. They all started the same way:

1

First visit free of charge

Complete check-up, photos, and any necessary X-rays. You leave knowing what you have, not what we are selling you.

2

Written plan

With options, timelines, and fixed prices. If there is a more conservative or cheaper alternative, it appears on the paper.

3

Treatment and photos

We document the before and after using the same protocol. The photos are yours, and deciding to publish them is up to you.

Questions about these photos

Are they real patients of the clinic?

Yes. All the cases on this page were treated at Clínica Dental Los Cristianos in Arona, and we took the photos ourselves in the treatment chair. We did not purchase any images or use cases from laboratories or other clinics.

Are the photos edited?

No. They are cropped and the framing is adjusted so that the before and after match, and nothing more. The colour of the teeth, the gums, or the shape are not modified. That is why you will see slightly reddened gums right after cementation, or teeth that are not commercial-white: it is how the mouth looks that day.

Can I achieve the same result?

It depends on your starting point, and that is why we don't promise it. Two people with similar teeth may need very different treatments depending on the bone, gums, bite, and whether they grind their teeth at night. What we can tell you on your first visit is what is realistic in your case and what is not.

How much does a change like that cost?

It varies a lot: a one-session bonding doesn't cost the same as a five-visit rehabilitation. After the check-up, we give you a fixed written quote, along with any available alternatives. Flexible financing is available and the terms are detailed in writing at the clinic.

How long do these results last?

With hygiene and check-ups, porcelain veneers and crowns usually last for many years, and well-maintained implants do as well. What most shortens the lifespan of any of them is the same in all cases: inflamed gums, bruxism without a night guard, and skipping check-ups. No dental treatment is permanent.

Why are there not more published cases?

Because we only publish cases where the patient has given us written permission, and many prefer not to. We have more clinical documentation that we can show you during your consultation if it helps you decide, including cases similar to yours.
